UPDATE: BUILDING AN ONLINE PORTFOLIO FROM SCRATCH

January 8th, 2019

Since publishing last May, several sections of Building An Online Portfolio From Scratch have changed due to updates made to the workflow that I use to maintain this website. After regularly updating and maintaining this site it became clear which areas worked versus areas that needed improvements. As such, I have updated the article to reflect those changes. I've kept the original content intact but with strikethrough formatting so that you are able to see what was originally included. Updated sections are labeled in red January 2019. Below is a summary of those changes.

  1. PHP added to handle common site-wide updates to the navigation and footer information.
  2. FileZilla has been replaced in favor for Transmit.
  3. Architecture and Nature portfolios have been reoganized under a common Portfolio page with sub-pages per photography type. The thumbail grid has been removed and replaced with 100% container width photo previews with higher quality images.
